Overscore Paintings 2011
There is a place I like to escape to in Wales, named Tyn y Cae. It sits above the sea in the lee of a mountain, and has an aura of quietness. I hear the lulling sound of the sea and occasional bleating of sheep.
The house has large windows with vistas full of sea and sky coloured by an ever-changing array of magical blues and greys that are often burned into silvers, golds and magenta by the setting sun.
Nothing interrupts the view to the sea and it’s impossible not to be entranced by such a place. Tyn y Cae can be a gentle sunny summer’s day or a raging, lashing winter’s storm. I love it.
