Keystone Thrust Paintings 2008
Paintings were inspired by the markings and colour tones I saw in the desert region of Red Rock Canyon in Nevada.
The Keystone Thrust, Nevada, is in geological terms a thrust fault, a reverse geological fault with shallow dip. The dark-grey Cambrian limestone of the Bonanza King Formation is moved sideways and above the pink Aztec Sandstone of Jurassic age.
